I thoroughly enjoyed this one. That said, I did like the addition of Washington's Farewell Address. Each of these Ruch Revere books is well written, imaginative, and delightful adventure for kids of any age. The author combines history prospects as well as real world prospects, besides for the bit about a time traveling and talking horse.
It's one of the best Rush Revere books I've ever read in my whole life. They do this by taking him and the rest of the crew back in time to visit presidents and first ladies Washington, Adams and Jefferson, and learn from them. At first, Cam thinks the election will be a piece of cake, but he soon realizes he will face challenges, including taking on an old nemesis. The left cheats at pretty much everything they do. Tommy, a football player and Freedom an artist help Cam make flyers and create an official president handshake, song and campaign speech as well as gather members to vote for him. Rush Revere is a history fanatic and loves spending his time teaching students at Manchester Middle School. Then well rush, rush, rush to the year 1803, when Thomas Jefferson continues the mission of creating America by making a risky decision to buy a lot of land from the French in the Louisiana Purchase, which more than doubles our size! I thoroughly enjoyed this one. This book was so well done, and I'm always thrilled with the thick pages, wonderful illustrations, and the hardback books. They learn how to run for office, and what holding office actually entails. When crew member Cam decides to run for student-body president, substitute teacher Rush Revere and Liberty the horse help him learn the skills required to be successful. But will he win the election? Definitely written for kids but soooo much history packed into the pages! If so, he is going to need his playbook and a little help from his friends! I would recommend this book to all ages, in fact I told my mom she should read it. Back in time they see the writing of the national anthem and witness Dolley Madison save a patriotic American symbol, and so much more. In a nutshell, after the long, hard fight for independence from Britain, the American patriots and Founding Fathers never wanted to live under the rule of a tyrant or under the rule of a king again.
