Oh sweet hell, this book got me good. How can these things keep happening? Closet Full of Bones is a perfect mix of psychological thriller and murder mystery, and the writing is absolutely luxurious — every character was well-crafted, every reveal laced with tension. It just got more and more farfetched and unbelievable for me and has too many mistakes. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. Did I like Gillians character throughout the book- yes I did. Everyone except the people who should logically know.
One or the other, perhaps, and I'd have soldiered on till the bitter end but with both issues I'd seen enough. All in all, I did enjoy the story, and it kept me engaged. Aalto is an intriguing story of two sisters and the impact their secrets have on their lives. What is the secret the sisters are trying to keep covered? The girls had a secret they share or so Gillian thought. As the threat to Clarissa grows, Micki feels compelled to help her in spite of the danger.

I had to re-read the first chapter a couple of times to fully grasp what the author was saying. The ending was definitely not what I expected! Gillian hired an retired cop to investigate Travis. Frankie is the flighty one, beautiful and always choosing the wrong man. Life couldn't be more idyllic for Cari, but healing humans and fae folk proves challenging at times, especially when secrets unfold in The Faerie Apothecary Mysteries.

How much more unstable can Bobby really be? What a great psychological thriller this book is. A few days later, the husband is found dead, his head bashed in. She thought she was the one who killed him, but it turned out that Bobby did. Story was gripping from beginning to end, could not put it down.
The Hearth sisters, Gillian and Frankie, have just bought a beautiful house by the bay, soon to be opened as a Bed and Breakfast for artists and writers and as they eagerly look forward to indulging in the process, an ex boyfriend spoils it all by constantly harassing Frankie, the younger of the two. I could not connect with the characters or plot line and hence it was too darn difficult to finish the book!! Aalto wanted me to think. Along the way there are plenty of twists and turns and things you didn't see coming. Why would she write down details of a manslaughter and body dump in her diaries??? Gillian discovers that, this time, her fight is about to land her in the crosshairs of a dangerous predator who will use any means necessary to remove her from the equation. Will Frankie tell Gillian the truth? It was the title, rigged with the anticipation of mind boggling suspense, add to that the summary, that piqued my curiosity.
And Kat must decide how public to go with her growing friendship with the sheriff. They were always ill or feeling sick and were therefore pretty insipid characters. It will certainly please lovers of macabre mystery thrillers. All of this cluster fuck of killers makes me wonder if they got the life insurance idea from Frankie to begin with, and all of the people coming for her would make more sense. Call the bloody police and get a restraining order. I did not see the ending coming - always nice to have a twist.
I have a problem with stories that throw a handful of suspects at you and yet throw in a meaningless and unanswered twist in the end. To be fair, most of the characters are 'something' and emotionally crippled, to be honest. Which begs the question…Is Frankie nor My Impressions: The character of Gillian has a very unique voice…an odd mixture of sarcasm and macabre which is what first peeked my interest. The characters seemed quite authentic and the story, although I think there may be too many characters had a great plot. Great writing, a great story, and wonderful characters made for a great book that to me was well worth the asking price. With a mounting death toll, Olivia knows she must unmask the killer or be the next to die. The view aloft is not only stunning, they are also surrounded by a dozen other colorful hot-air balloons.
